From Wikipedia: "In educational institutions, safe-space (or safe space), safer-space, and positive space are terms used to indicate that a teacher, educational institution or student body suppresses and do not tolerate any free speech that are perceived to be negative against LGBT people, harassment, hate speech or disagreeing with any such group. Only opinions that are accepting towards these groups are allowed, thereby creating a "safe" place for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and all students" (Safe-space, 2016).
This course is designed to help navigate what it means to create a safe environment for all people, but most especially for those who have been disenfranchised by other institutions.
